HOW TO SEARCH INFORMATION USING A SEARCH ENGINE

Here are steps to perform a search using a search engine:

1. Open a browser: Launch a browser like Google chrome or microsoft edge.

2. Type in a search engine:Enter a keywords or phrase related to what you want to find. For example: "Steps to prepare Rice" or " Top secondary school in Tanzania."

3. Use quotation marks for exact phrases: Type "Tanzanian independence 1961" to find results that exactly match this phrase.

4. Use advanced tools: Use filters to narrow down your results, such as date, type of content (e.g videos, images). For example: On Google, after searching, clicks "Tools">"Past 24 hours" to see the latest information.

5. Click on relevant link: Select link that appear most relevant to your question.

How to use use ICT tools to learn English

SIMPLE WAYS YOU CAN USE ICT TOOLS TO LEARN ENGLISH LANGUAGE

You can use ICT tools like a computer, smartphone or tablet to learn English in the following way:

(a) Language learning apps: Apps like Duolingo,Babbel and Rosetta stone offer structured lesson in vocabulary, grammar and punctuation. You can also practice daily quizzes and interactive challenges to improve their language skills.

(b) Watching videos. Watch English language videos on Youtube on educational platforms such as BBC Learning English and TED talks.

(c) Reading articles and e-books. Read English newspapers (e.g The Daily News, and the Guardian) or blogs to enhance vocabulary and understanding of sentence structures. Use of e-books to explore diverse topics while practicing reading

(d) Online courses. Enroll in courses on platiforms like coursera, EdX, or Udemy that teach English grammar, writing or speaking skills. Also, follow structured syllabi and engage in assignments orpractical learning.

(e) Grammar and writing tools: Use tools like grammarly or Hemingway Editor to write essays, emails or stories and receive instant feedback on grammar and style. Practice editing and revising sentences for better writing skills.

(f) Listening to podcasts:Tune in podcasts like "The English We speak" or "ESL Pod" to enhace listening skills and learn conversational phrases. Also, rewind and replay parts to focus on pronunciation and intonation.
